WHAT WE DO AND WHAT DO WE STAND FOR?

We are a Belgian-Dutch organization that rescues unwanted dogs and cats in southern Spain. We buy dogs free from killing stations, and take care of a number of colonies with stray kittens. We also take in neglected and abused dogs, puppies that have been left in garbage containers, and discarded breeding dogs. The dogs and cats reside in two shelters (refugios) in Spain (Malaga and Algeciras), or in foster families.

About 500 dogs and cats live in both refugios together. Each animal is neutered/spayed and receives medical care in our own veterinary clinic. We then look for a new, nice home after a thorough screening of the adopters (with a home visit), mainly in Belgium and the Netherlands. After adoption, we monitor our animals and, if necessary, we give the adopters tips and support.

If the dog or cat cannot stay with the adopter due to circumstances, we will look for a new home. In more than 22 years, we have already given a new life to 26.000 four-legged friends. Our organization was founded and is still led by the Belgian Fabienne Paques, assisted by more than 300 volunteers in Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain. We are also an accredited internship for animal care students.

We also work on a structural basis by organizing castration campaigns for stray dogs and cats.
ACE|SHIN receives no subsidies and depends entirely on donations.

OUR REACH

In its long existence ACE|SHIN has built up a great reputation and a very reliable reputation in Belgium and the Netherlands. Every year, more than 1.000 of our dogs and cats find a new home in these 2 countries. This makes ACE|SHIN the largest rescue organization of Spanish dogs. Twice a month there is a road transport of a 100-
a number of reserved four-legged friends to Belgium and the Netherlands, where the adopters are waiting for them. In addition, we regularly organize dog walks with our sympathizers, and we are present at the larger dog events. Every year we organize a return day in Belgium and the Netherlands for all adopters and sympathizers, at which the Spanish team is also present. We also regularly organize group trips to our refugio, and we hold an annual open day in our refugio.

We have more than 50.000 followers on our social media, and a team of approximately 300 volunteers (home visitors, reception families, translators, arrival team, aftercare people including, behavioral therapists, etc.).

We will then send you a photo of the loft and its inhabitants, and we will also post this on social media.

With so many boarders, we also always need the following:
